You’re invited to attend our partner dinner and live auction on November 5th from 5pm-8pm at 121 Community Church in Grapevine, TX. We are excited to announce that there will be LIVE music from David Parker as well as a LIVE auction of items done by our very own auctioneer, Loyd Sawyers. Mark your calendars, because this is an event you won’t want to miss!
Last week we had the pleasure of welcoming our pastor and his wife, Ross and Lisa, from our home church 121 Community Church. It was so great to see them again after 2 1/2 years and to show them around Papua New Guinea. We had the chance to take them to a traditional PNG meal called a “mumu” at one of our friend’s villages. They came to one of the youth services where Evan and I lead worship as well as ate with some of our friends and heard their experiences. We also got the chance to go to town and market and even drive to Goroka where they bought some souvenirs and see some of the countryside. We had such a great time with them just being able to debrief about our time here and show them what its like to live and work here. We are so grateful that they took the time to come here and really understand what its like. Here are some pictures of their time here.
This weekend we had our Commissioning service at 121 Community Church. It was so great to know that our entire church is behind us; supporting us and praying for us as we go. We are so grateful for God’s provision over this year as he has provided everything we needed, even when we doubted Him. We are also grateful for the church, and how they have walked beside us throughout this entire time. So many people have spoken about how they are intrigued by how 121 operates, specifically through the “Sending Team”. A group of 20 people that have agreed to diligently meet every month and pray for us. As well as take care of our families while we are gone and send us monthly care packages.
The coolest part of the service, hands down was when Ross opened it up for an “Open Mic” time for everyone to share what they were grateful for, or what ways God has been working in their lives. Wow. It was powerful.
Missed it? Check out the service HERE.
We want to personally thank everyone who came to our fundraiser on Saturday! It was such an awesome time and God really showed up. Our prayer for the night was that God would show up and “Steal our Show” (a Toby Mac song) and he really, REALLY did. It was incredible how God worked through the people that came to our event, and even through strangers that were just watching from other tables! My favorite moment of the night was when a stranger, from another party came over and asked Diana Parker what was going on? She told him, and he proceeded to bid $1000 towards an auction item! We had never met before, he hardly knew what the event was for. But God had him placed right there at the right time and chose our event to speak to his heart. It was such a humbling and overwhelming experience for Evan and I. We are so excited to get to Papua New Guinea and to be able to tell everyone about what God has done. I hope that everyone that was there on Saturday will share about what God did, because it really was AMAZING.
A verse that was given to Jane Halferty (Evan’s mom) after the event…
Philippians 4:19-20 ” And my God will supply all of your needs according to His riches in Christ Jesus. Now to our God and Father be the glory forever and ever. Amen.”
Here are some pictures from the night.

Thanks to our sending church, 121 Community Church, for letting us speak on Sunday! We had a ton of response and are so happy to see everyone excited about Bible translation. Also a huge shout out to our sending team leader, Jonathan Hollon for helping us at the booth!

This weekend our church, 121 Community Church, had a party to release their newest CD, “Here”. All of the proceeds from the night went to World Relief- a nonprofit that helps refugees in the area. It was a blast hearing all of their new original songs. We absolutely love our church-they have been so supportive of us and our mission efforts. I really don’t think we could’ve done all of this without them! Here are a few photos I took at their concert.
