Last weekend we celebrated Evan’s brother, Justin’s Master’s graduation. It was so great being able to see him walk across the stage. He graduated with his MBA and already has a job at Enterprise in management and an apartment in downtown Dallas-we are so proud of him! We had such a blast with family this weekend that were in town for the graduation, and were able to spend lots of quality time with them.
We are so proud of you Justin, and will forever be the 3 amigos!
This weekend we had the pleasure of getting family pictures done with both Evan and I’s families. It was such a great weekend to celebrate our moms and capture these moments in our lives before we leave. A huge thank you to Sarah Rizy with Lightly Photography for capturing these great images and helping us cherish these moments before we leave. As many of you know the hardest thing about leaving to PNG has been to leave our families behind. We are so close to them and rarely go a week without seeing them both. We’ve also had such luck that when we got married both of our families got along really well. We always do holidays together, and they are there to help eachother out when the other one needs it. We are so thankful for that. That is why we wanted to take pictures with everyone together to celebrate Mother’s Day.
Here are some of my favorites from the session…

It makes me so sad to say this but we are giving away our precious dog, Layla. We can not take her to live in Papua New Guinea with us, it is just too expensive. So we would love to find a family that would want to adopt her. If you are interested in taking her or know someone who is interested please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org
Layla is a sweet beagle mix that is approximately 3 1/2 years old. She is spayed, vaccinated and micro-chipped. She has had obedience training and knows a few tricks. She is looking for a good home with a big yard. She loves to cuddle with you, and go on long walks/hikes. She also loves playing in the water! Good for a home that only has one dog as she doesn’t get along with other dogs very well. She is also good with kids.
Evan & his Grandmas
Where have we been?! I know its been way too long since our last post. I know you are just dying to hear what the Halfertys have been up to. Well we just got back from a trip to visit all of our grandparents and family in Iowa and Oklahoma. We started off in Iowa visiting all of Evan’s grandparents and aunts and uncles. We spoke at First Baptist Fort Madison and had a great time with Evan’s family!

After time there we were off to Oklahoma and saw Sarah’s grandparents in Tulsa, and then went down to Paul’s Valley and spoke at First Baptist Paul’s Valley. Sarah’s cousin, Kenny is the pastor at First Baptist Paul’s Valley and it was great to see him and the response from the church was amazing! Here are some photos…

Through this trip we raised 10% which brings our total to 90% of our monthly budget! We only have $395 left to raise, would you consider partnering with us?
